Zoo Boo 2024

We went to the Zoo Boo at the Detroit Zoo on Saturday, and I wanted to share pictures, because life isn’t all about reading.

This is the second time I’ve been to the Zoo Boo, but the first time without dragging along any kids. The event was packed, and because we arrived earlier in the afternoon, we were able to see some of the animals. The weather was mild and extremely pleasant, so the residents of the zoo were out and about, enjoying the sun.

I was surprised to see that a large section of the zoo was closed off and under construction. Not sure what’s entailed in the renovation, but the barn, buffalo, wolverine, and several other exhibits were being demolished for a wilderness trail. I can hardly wait to see what the reimagined areas will look like.

What is your zoo like? Do they have special events for the holidays or seasons? We have tickets for Zoo Lights in November, and I’m looking forward to seeing the zoo blanketed in lights. I love Christmas decorations, and the time leading up to the holidays are my favorite time of the year. Everyone seems energized and happy, and there is so much going on. I love the colors and the lights and the enthusiasm people throw into decorating their homes for the holidays.

Here’s a gallery of images, thanks to my SIL Shannon.
